Privacy Policy
1. Who this notice covers
InstantUrban Co. operates Built, an AI-assisted workspace for spatial and product design, and the websites usebuilt.ai and instanturban.ca. This notice explains our handling of personal information in these services, including the mobile app. For account and service administration, InstantUrban Co. is responsible for deciding how that information is used.
2. Information involved in using Built
- Accounts: your name, email, password hash, account preferences, invitation status, access permissions and connected sign-in identity. Google sign-in provides identity information that you authorize Google to share.
- Design work: prompts, conversations, uploaded documents, images, drawings, models, annotations, generated files and project history. Mobile capture may include photos, selected video frames, audio or room geometry when you choose the relevant feature and grant device permissions.
- Service records: device and session identifiers, IP address, approximate location inferred from the connection, request times, errors, feature usage, model usage, credits and transaction or administrative audit records.
- Support: information you send when reporting a problem. Enabled debug recording can include requests, responses, execution events and project state, so avoid including information unnecessary for the task.
3. Why we process it
We use this information to authenticate users, maintain projects, carry out requested AI and design operations, manage invitations and credits, investigate failures, prevent abuse and meet applicable obligations. Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, this is performance of the service agreement, our legitimate interests in secure and reliable operations, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where applicable. Optional permissions and any separately requested training consent are not conditions for unrelated service functions.
4. AI processing and training
Built sends the content needed for your requested task to the applicable model and tool services. This can include relevant project files, screenshots, prompts and conversation context.
We do not use your design files, prompts or other project content to train or fine-tune AI models without your separate, explicit consent. Agreeing to this notice or the Terms of Service is not that consent. We do not authorize training on your content as part of ordinary service processing. Running a model to answer your request is different from training it.
Model and infrastructure providers may process or retain service data for request handling, security and abuse prevention under their applicable service terms. Do not assume that all model services offer identical retention periods or zero retention. Contact us for information about the providers applicable to your account before submitting material subject to special handling requirements.
5. Providers, integrations and sharing
We use cloud infrastructure, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, and model or tool providers selected for the feature being used. Relevant data is processed to deliver those functions. Authorized personnel may access records for support, security and administration. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights and security, or in a business transfer subject to applicable protections.
Google integrations can request access to files that you select or create with Built. The authorization screen describes the requested access. You can revoke that access through Google; revocation does not itself remove copies already saved in a Built project. Other external services have their own notices. We do not sell your personal information or use your private project content for third-party advertising.
6. Storage, transfers and deletion
Service processing can take place in the United States and other countries where the relevant providers operate. Legal protections may differ from those in your country. Where applicable law requires transfer safeguards, those requirements apply to the transfer; contact us for details. This notice is not a claim that every transfer uses a particular certification or agreement.
We retain account and project information to operate your account and preserve your work, and retain necessary usage, financial, security and audit records for their relevant operational or legal purposes. Retention depends on the record type and the applicable provider; we do not promise one fixed deletion period for all systems.
Closing a sign-in account does not automatically delete projects and files stored in connected product systems. If you want those removed, identify the projects in your deletion request. Backups, dispute records and records required by law may remain after an operational copy is removed. We will explain any applicable limitation when responding.
7. Cookies, preferences and your choices
Cookies and browser storage maintain sign-in sessions, secure authentication, remember language and preserve necessary workflow state. Blocking them may prevent those features from working. Any future optional tracking that requires consent must obtain that consent separately.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, a copy, deletion, restriction or objection, and withdraw consent for consent-based processing. Contact the address below; we may need proportionate identity verification. You can also complain to your relevant data-protection authority. We do not use Built design outputs to make eligibility decisions about you in employment, lending or similar areas.
8. Security, children and updates
We use measures such as access controls, hashed passwords and secure transport to protect information. No online service can guarantee complete security. Built is intended for people able to enter into a service contract, not for children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
We may update this notice as the service changes. Material changes will be identified through an appropriate service notice before taking effect where required. A change to this notice does not itself give us permission to train on your project content.
